A series of cultural activities to mark the Vietnam
Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) began last week at ancient sites in
the Old Quarter and downtown HCM City.
Children noisily shouted as two colourful lions, one red, one yellow,
appeared at the entrance to Kim Ngan Communal House on Hang Bac Street
yesterday.
Stepping into the cool atmosphere of Kim Ngan Temple
on Hang Bac Street, Gemma Bone, a tourist from England, was amazed by
an installation of various hats made of dried leaves that covered the
front yard and gate.
Tourists and the general public will be admitted
free to many cultural activities in the Old Quarter to promote a
festival entitled Traditional Handicraft with Contemporary Arts.
